Working hard for Calamvale Ward

Park Projects

The following are park projects completed and upcoming in Calamvale Ward:

Calamvale District Park

Located between Formby and Ormskirk Streets, Calamvale.

This park was created through extensive community consultation and workshops involving local school children. The works of local students can be seen on the scribbly gum moth inserts into the stepping stone pathways.

Calamvale District Park was officially opened on 26 January 2012 and boasts the first Tree Top Walk in Australia.

Stage 6 has recently been completed. Click here to view a concept map of the completed works as part of Stage 6 in the development. A second large shelter, plus a youth space including a multipurpose half court, seats and shelter together with additional pathways were
completed on 16 August 2013.

Lakewood Ave Park

Located off Argyle Place, Parkinson.

An upgrade of play equipment opened in September 2013.

Heathwood Park

I am pleased to announce I have approved a $140,000 playground upgrade to Heathwood Park through the Parkinson Ward Parks and Footpath Trust Fund.  Improvements will include a new Kings Castle Playgym with rubber softfall, as well as shade sails in the central area between the carpark and the Pyramid Climber.
